Caption: Passenger aircraft construction. Airbus A340 being painted during the final stages of production. Painting takes 12 painters and 6 operators, directing six telescopic bridges. Three coats are applied, taking 20, 30 and 45 minutes for the 1st, 2nd and 3rd coats respectively. The total painted surface is 2100 square metres and uses 1300kg of paint, 4 kilometres of tape and 3000 square metres of protective paper. Photographed at EADS (European Aeronautic Defence and Space Company), Toulouse, France.
