Caption: Light micrograph of a section through a pheochromocytoma tumour of the adrenal gland. Here in the medulla of the gland, large tumour cells have been marked by synaptophysin (chromogranin A, blue). Although this tumour is usually benign (non-cancerous), it can lead to uncontrolled over secretion of adrenal hormones such as adrenaline. Magnification: x275 when printed at 10 centimetres wide.
