Caption: MODEL RELEASED. Prostate cancer treatment consent forms. Male patient filling in consent forms for his treatment for prostate cancer. The treatment being used here involves the use of long, hollow needles that are inserted into the prostate to implant radioactive sources. This type of treatment is known as brachytherapy, and is a form of radiotherapy. The radiation from the radioactive sources kills the cancerous cells. Photographed at the Edinburgh Cancer Centre, Western General Hospital, Scotland.
