Caption

This species of caecilian, Caudacaecilia asplenia, comes from the Malaysian Cameron highlands. This is a larval caecilian that spends most of its time in flooded materials at the edge of streams or ponds. The keeled tail gives this individual away as being a larvae, since adults lose the keeled look as they mature. This animal was photographed in 2007.
