Northern Elephant Seals (Mirounga angustirostris) are the largest pinnipeds in the northern hemisphere. They are dark gray to brown in coloration. The males can weigh over 5,000 pounds and up to 16 ft long. The females can weigh 2,000 pounds and be up to 10 ft long.
