Caption: MODEL RELEASED. Temperature sensitivity experiment. Schoolgirls testing the temperature of hot, cold and warm water using their hands. The relative changes in temperature will be sensed differently depending on the order in which their hands are dipped into the water. Warm water can feel cold after the hands have previously been immersed in hot water, but it can also feel hot after the hands have previously been immersed in cold water.
