Caption: ATHEROMA, DRAWING Myocardial infarction (plaque of atheroma). A myocardial infarction is a necrosis of a part of the cardiac muscle following the obstruction of a coronary artery. The obstruction is often due to the association of a plaque of atheroma on the wall of the artery and the formation of a thrombus. The factors of risk are smoking, high blood pressure, stress and sedentarity. See. images 8465206 for the same drawing with the captions, 8465006 and 8465106 for the same illustration with a blue background.
