The iCub is a small humanoid robot designed by the RobotCub Consortium of scientists from European universities. It is intended to aid research on cognition, developing ways to imitate human crawling, spatial awareness, hand dexterity, and eye control and visual processing. Funded by the European Union, and carried out in collaboration with industry, RobotCub and other projects are expected to produce several robots using iCub software by the end of 2009.
