Asbestos removal. Workers in protective clothing dismantling huts made of asbestos. Asbestos is a heat resistant fibre used in fire-proof fabrics and electrical and heating insulation. It is highly toxic when inhaled as dust particles. Prolonged exposure causes the fatal lung diseases asbestosis and mesothelioma. Here they are placing the dismantled sections in protective bags to isolate them. Photographed in Gravelines, France.
