Caption: Marine worm (Lepidonotus squamatus) in normal light. This worm is able to fluoresce under ultraviolet light (see image (C004/3814 for the same worm under ultraviolet light). Polychaetes are a class of annelid (segmented) worms. Each segment has a pair of fleshy limb-like appendages (parapodia) which aid in locomotion.
