Caption: Launch pad assembly. Cranes being used during construction of a launch pad at the European Space Agency's (ESA) spaceport, the Centre Spatial Guyanais (CSG), in Kourou, French Guiana. This launch pad will be used for Ariane 5 rockets built by the ESA. Ariane 5 is an expendable (single use) launch system designed to deliver payloads into geostationary transfer orbit (GTO) or Low Earth Orbit (LEO). Photographed in February 2007.
