This launch pad, at the European Space Agency's (ESA) spaceport, the Centre Spatial Guyanais (CSG), in Kourou, French Guiana, will be used for modern Souyz ST rockets built by the Russian space agency. The Soyuz ST is a variant of the Soyuz 2, a three-stage carrier rocket used to place payloads into low Earth orbit (LEO). This model was photographed in February 2007.
