Caption: False-colour scanning electron micrograph (SEM) of Moraxella sp. , an unidentified species of a genus of bacteria that inhabits the mouth & throat, skin and genitourinary tracts of humans. M. osloensis is implicated in a variety of infections, which include: conjunctivitis, wound sepsis, vaginal discharges, meningitis, brain abscess, septicaemia, endocarditis, arthritis osteomyelitis and urethritis. Treatment is with penicillin. Magnification: x6,000 at 35mm size, x12,000 at 6x7.
