Colour composite image of the RCW120 stellar nursery, showing how an expanding bubble of ionised gas (reddish) about 10 light-years across is causing the surrounding material to collapse into dense clumps where new stars are then formed. Image created from data taken with the LABOCA camera on the Atacama Pathfinder Experiment (APEX) telescope, and data from the Second Generation Digitized Sky Survey (I-band, blue; R-band, red).
