Caption: Filifactor villosus bacteria. Coloured scanning electron micrograph (SEM) of a colony of long, thin Filifactor villosus (formerly Clostridium villosum) bacteria. These bacteria were isolated from a human mouth. F. villosus is an anaerobic, Gram-positive bacteria which is passed on by cat bites. It causes infections after the bite, and localised swellings. Treatment is with anti- biotic drugs. Magnification: x2, 100 at 6x7cm size. x7500 at 8x10"
