This virus is highly studied because of its mechanism of loading DNA and later injecting it into its bacterial host. This is a tailed Phage and when the tail comes in contact with its host it injects the DNA like a syringe. The structure in red is the ds-DNA filling and plugging the neck of the collar before insertion into the host.
