Caption: Diplurans are flightless and blind invertebrates. As a group, diplurans broke away from the ancestors of the insects before insects evolved flight. Many species of dipluran inhabit caves. Bead-like antennae are a key character for the group. This individual was photographed in Jail Cave, Delaware County, Oklahoma in 2008.
