Caption: The Chilean Toad (Bufo chilensis) breeds in streams. Male toads call from the edges of streams and pools to attract females. Females in breeding condition move to the waterways where male toad grasp them in a hold known as amplexus. The female produces long strings of eggs and the male fertilizes them externally. Photographed around Curacavi, Chile, in September 2008.
