Caption: The sulphur polypore, or chicken-of-the-woods fungus, Laetiporus sulphureus, growing on the trunk of a larch tree. An edible fungus when young & fresh, it is considered a delicacy in Germany. This specimen was photographed near Chigwell, in Essex.
