Caption: Photograph of interactions in a bubble chamber at the Lawrence Berkeley Laboratory, California. A beam of negative pions, produced from the Bevatron accelerator, stream up through the picture. A number of them interact to produce other particles. The paths of the particles are bent by the bubble chamber's magnetic field: the more massive & energetic the particle, the less its path bends. The spiral tracks are produced by lightweight electrons.
