Caption: Stomata, light micrograph. Stomata (oval structures) are pores that regulate the exchange of gases and water vapour into and out of a plant. The highest concentration of stomata is found on the leaves of a plant, but they are also found elsewhere. These stomata are from a tulip plant. Magnification: x275 when printed at 10 centimetres across.
