Caption: Undescended testes. Artwork showing the a baby with undescended testes (top). During foetal development the testes are formed in the abdomen. Around the seventh month of gestation the testes normally move from the abdomen to the scrotum. Most undescended testes will descend within the first few months after birth. If this doesn't happen surgery is needed to lower the testicles to prevent infertility.
