Caption: Title page of Libellus de Stellis (1587). This book was written by the German astronomer and theologian Heinrich Decimator (c.1544-1615). It was published in Magdeberg, and was both a literary and astronomical work, containing artworks of constellations interspersed with poetry. The title translates as 'Book of Stars'. The text is in Latin, and includes the title and description (top and above centre) followed by the author's name (below centre). Publication details are near the bottom, including the place of publication and the publication year. At bottom is a stamped mark identifying this as a copy held by the Royal Astronomical Society.
