Caption: Imperial shag (Phalacrocorax atriceps). This seabird is a type of cormorant, and is found in the regions around Antarctica, feeding on fish and invertebrates. It has black and white plumage, with a white underside and black elsewhere. Characteristic features include its orange nasal knob, and the blue ring around its eyes. Its other names include blue-eyed shag and blue-eyed cormorant. This black crest on its head appears during the breeding season. Photographed on the Falkland Islands.
