Caption: King penguin (Aptenodytes patagonicus) using its beak to preen the dense plumage on one of its flippers. This penguin is found in Antarctic and sub-Antarctic regions. It is a social animal, living and breeding in large colonies of thousands of individuals. It feeds on small fish and squid. The king penguin is the second largest penguin in the world, reaching a height of around 1 metre. Photographed on Saunders Island, the Falkland Islands.
