Caption: Carer with young snow geese (Chen caerulescens). These geese have imprinted onto her as their substitute mother, so she must aid their transition back into the wild. The snow goose is a migratory bird native to North America. It breeds in the northernmost areas but travels as far south as Mexico for the winter. It prefers to inhabit marshy areas and eats seeds, leaves and buds. Photographed in Brittany, France, in January.
