Caption: Fossilised prehistoric hominid remains. Fossilised remains of an early hominid primate species found at the Klasies River Caves site in South Africa. This is one of the oldest known sites where remains of anatomically modern humans have been found. Cut marks on some of the bones have been interpreted as an indication of cannibalism.
