Caption: Stanislav Us, Russian aerospace engineer. Us was the chief designer of the RS-36M series of intercontinental ballistic missiles (NATO code name SS-18 'Satan'). These weapons had a range of up to 16,000km and carried up to ten independent nuclear warheads. Following arms reduction talks, many RS-36M units have been converted into satellite launch vehicles known as the RS-20 'Dnepr'. This photograph was taken during the 10th launch of the new RS-20 which carried the Genesis II satellite into orbit on 28 June 2007.
