Caption: Mule ewe (left) with lamb (right). Mule sheep are a crossbreed between a Bluefaced Leicester ram and either a Swaledale or Blackface ewe. Mule sheep are an improved breed, a phenomenon known as hybrid vigour. This lamb was sired by a ram from the Texel breed of sheep. Photographed in the North of England.
