Caption: Desert agriculture, 2005, satellite image. The dark green areas seen in the desert sands are numerous centre pivot irrigation fields. These ones are in the northern Murzuq Desert in Libya. The Murzuq Desert in south-western Libya is an erg desert, part of the Sahara Desert. Image obtained on 11 March 2005, by the Landsat 7 satellite.
