Caption: Astronaut Charles Conrad on the Moon during the Apollo 12 moon landings. Apollo 12 was the sixth manned space flight in the US Apollo program and the second manned mission to land on the Moon. Astronauts Charles Conrad and Alan Bean arrived in the Ocean of Storms on 19 November 1969 and made two excursions on the surface for a total of 7 hours 45 minutes. They retrieved parts of a robot, Surveyor 3, left there 2.5 years previously, and used seismometers to investigate the seismology of the Moon.
