Caption: Tenoumer Crater, satellite image. This impact crater is in Mauritania in the Sahara Desert. It is 1.9 kilometres in diameter and has a rim 110 metres high. The crater is estimated to be 20,000 years old. Image taken by the Advanced Spaceborne Thermal Emission and Reflection Radiometer (ASTER) on NASA's Terra satellite on 24th January 2008.
