Caption: Phobos. First ever image of Phobos, taken by NASA's Mariner 9 space orbiter in 1971. Phobos, the larger of the two Martian moons, is irregular in shape, measuring 19x21x27 kilometres. It orbits 9400 kilometres above Mars, taking just over 7.6 hours to complete an orbit.
