Caption: Parasol mushroom. Parasol mushroom (Lepiota, or Macrolepiota procera) growing in dry grass. This is an edible fungus which grows in Britain and Europe. It is found mainly in pastures and open woodland in summer and autumn, although it is not common. It is valued for its fine, slightly sweet taste. As the mushroom ages, its cap flattens out. It is a large mushroom, the cap sometimes reaching 25 centimetres in width.
