Caption: Soya bean plant research. Plant physiologist measuring carbon dioxide (CO2) uptake and water loss from leaves of soya bean (Glycine max) plants grown at elevated CO2 concentrations. Measurements on plants grown at current ambient CO2 concentration and at elevated concentrations are used to show whether the plants make long-term adjustments to the elevated concentrations. This can be used to determine the effects of climate change on different crops.
