Caption: Shaggy parasol cap mushrooms (Lepiota rhacodes) growing on a woodland floor. These mushrooms are the edible fruiting bodies of this fungus and can reach 15 centimetres in height. They have gills on the undersides of the caps from which ripe spores drift on the wind to form a new fungal body or mycelium. The Lepiota mushrooms have rings on their stems (seen just below the cap). This fungus is often associated with coniferous trees.
