Caption: Bion 7 experiment capsule. Scientists preparing the capsule of the Bion 7 mission for space flight. Bion 7 was a biological research mission, carrying two rhesus macaques named Gordyy and Oomka, ten rats and ten newts. The experiments looked at various aspects of long-duration space flight and microgravity. Bion 7 was launched on 10th August 1985 and returned to Earth seven days later. The mission was also known as Biocosmos 7 and Cosmos 1667. Photographed on 27 April 1985.
