Caption: This illustration of the H1N1 swine flu virus shows the attraction of the virus to the receptors on the surface of a cell, and how the virus enters the cell membrane. The genetic material inside the virus makes its way into the nucleus of the host cell, where it transcribes itself into the host cell's messenger RNA. This initiates a series of events that creates a new version of the flu's genetic material, which in turn creates a new virus that buds out of the cell and into the body, where it replicates at will.
