Caption: Italy at night. International Space Station (ISS) image of Italy (centre) and the Adriatic coast (right) at night. The island of Sicily is at centre left. Parts of the ISS and a docked Russian spacecraft can be seen around the edges of the image. Lights (yellow) of increasing intensity show areas of increasing population, with areas of few lights being more sparsely populated. Image taken on 28th October 2010 by an Expedition 25 crew member.
