Caption: Berlin-Schoenefeld Airport, Berlin, Germany, satellite radar image. North is at top. The runways (black) are surrounded by terminal buildings and roads. This is a composite of three 2010 images taken on 14 April (red), 6 May (green), and 28 May (blue). The colours highlight areas that changed between these dates. Bright blue (centre) marks the Berlin Airshow, while the colours at lower left mark the construction of a new terminal. These images, of an area around 5 kilometres across, were obtained by the TerraSAR-X satellite, a European satellite that uses X-band (microwave) synthetic aperture radar (SAR) to observe the Earth from space.
