Caption: Saturn's moon Hyperion. Cassini spacecraft image of the cratered edge of Hyperion. This irregular shaped moon is composed of water ice with a few impurities. It is thought that due to its low density much of its interior is empty. The Cassini-Huygens spacecraft was launched in 1997 to investigate Saturn, its rings and its moons. Image obtained on 26th September 2005 by the Cassini spacecraft's narrow-angle camera, at a distance of 32,300 kilometres from Hyperion.
