Caption: Richard Henry Dalitz (1925-2006), Australian physicist. Dalitz studied at Melbourne University, then obtained his PhD from Cambridge University, England. He worked on particle physics, working at Bristol University and then in the USA from 1953 to 1963. From then, until his retirement in 1990, he worked at the University of Oxford. His contributions to particle physics include the Dalitz plot, a technique for plotting the tracks of particle decay products, and the Dalitz pair (the product of pion decay).
