Caption: Robert Budington Griffiths (born 1937), US physicist. Griffiths was born and educated in India, before studying at Princeton University and Stanford University, USA. His research has been in quantum mechanics. Since 1984 he has attempted to formulate a consistent probability-based method for developing quantum theories, an interpretation known as the consistent histories approach. Griffiths is a Fellow of the American Physical Society. As of 2011 he is Professor of Physics at Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA, where he has worked since 1964. He was awarded the Dannie Heineman Prize in 1984.Restrictions:
