Caption: George Hale and Alicia Mosgrove in the Hooker garden enacting a scene from a script they had written. This was the garden of the residence of Katharine Putnam Hooker, wife of John Daggett Hooker who funded the Hooker telescope at the Mount Wilson Observatory. US astronomer George Ellery Hale (1868-1938) was close friends with Katherine and her younger friend Alicia, spending many happy hours in this garden with them in the period from 1904 to 1909. The house and garden were located on Adams Street in Los Angeles, California, USA. Hale is best known for founding the Yerkes and Mount Wilson observatories.Restrictions:
