Caption: Buran Shuttle cockpit. The Russian Buran shuttle was designed to glide down to Earth from space. The first and only launch (unmanned) of this shuttle took place in 1988. Despite a successful flight, funding was cut and the project cancelled in 1993. Photographed in 2010, at the Yuri Gagarin Cosmonaut Training Centre, in Star City, near Moscow, Russia.
