Caption: Russky Island bridge construction. Workers among the steel-reinforced framework for one of the concrete piers of the Russky Island bridge. This bridge will connect Russky Island, in the Sea of Japan, with the mainland near the port of Vladivostok, in the Russian Far East. The bridge will cross this strait, known as the Eastern Bosphorus. When completed, this bridge will be the largest cable-stayed bridge in the world. It is being constructed for the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) conference that will take place on Russky Island in 2012. Photographed in March 2010.
