Caption: Sergei Evgen'evich Severin (1901-1993), Russian-Soviet biochemist. Severin graduated from Moscow University in 1924. From 1932 he was a professor at the Riazan Medical Institute, later working as a director in various departments of the Academy of Medical Sciences at Moscow. His main research areas are in the biochemistry of skeletal musculature. Photographed in 1978.
