Caption: Bell foundry. Bell moulds seen soon after molten metal has been poured into them. The metal being used is a bronze known as bell metal with about 23% tin and 77% copper. The moulds contain an inner core, this is often coated with graphite for smoothness which burns off. These ornate bells are used in Russian Orthodox churches and monasteries. Photographed at the LITEX company in Moscow, Russia.
