Caption: The Sea Gooseberry (Pleurobrachia pileus) is a Comb Jelly, Phylum Ctenophora. Most Ctenophores have two retractable tentacles covered with adhesive bodies called colloblasts or lasso cells useful in capturing prey. The characteristic combs of these marine invertebrates are plates of cilia used for locomotion and these refract light to form iridescent colors. LM X0.5.
