Caption: Robin's pin cushion or Bedeguar gall of the gall wasp Diplolepis rosae on a wild rose. Eggs are laid in a leaf bud from which thick roundish galls develop (5cm) with a mossy surface entirely covered with filamentous outgrowths. Reproduction is almost exclusively by parthenogenesis in this species. The common name of this wasp is Mossy Rose Gall wasp.
